So. I haven't blogged for a VERY long time. For that I most sincerely apologize. So the next few posts will be written with the date as the post title, to let you know exactly what happened when. :) Starting here:
November 13, 2013
After doing laundry, we headed downtown for a day of shopping. We first went to Гостины Двор (Gostiny Dvor), a big department store type place with lots of cool souvenirs. Then we went to Дом Книги (Dom Knigi-- english pronunciation, House of Books-- literal translation). Though it is a bookstore, the whole main floor has souvenirs: calendars, snow globes, Matryoshka dolls, etc. It's been one of our main places to get souvenirs. :) After that we went to Kazan Cathedral. This one wasn't my favourite, for some reason it just seemed very dark and foreboding, not at all like St. Isaac's which seemed very inviting. Don't ask me why. I just felt very uncomfortable there. It looks really nice from the outside though. After that we went to a friends house to have dinner, eat cookies, and play games. :)
