Our friend from Switzerland arrived for the weekend, and to kick off our time with her, we took a boat ride through the canals and down the rivers. It was incredible! It was dark and all the city lights were on, oh it was amazing. I went to great lengths to get these pictures for you guys. I had to take my glove off to take pictures, and because it was so cold I suffered minor frostbite on my right hand. :) It was kinda scary, but the swelling went down after a while and circulation returned before my fingers turned purple and had to be amputated. :P
OK so I'm a little off track. The city at night must be one of the most beautiful sights in St. Petersburg. I love how the lights reflect off the water. It gave a bit of a christmassy feeling to be out in the cold with all the lights everywhere….
