A Walk Downtown

Yesterday we took a walk in downtown St. Petersburg. Which, I must say, is not at all like the other cities we visited. For one thing, it was colder. But it was also a lot busier and less friendly-- or so it seemed. Anyway, To start off, we walked through the summer gardens. You'll notice I took quite a few pics of the treetops.... well they are just too beautiful!

Mom and Papa each standing by a selected statue...

The Eternal Flame. It is a flame that will never burn out, commemorative of all the soldiers that died in the wars.

Пышки!!!!
A favourite: they are NOT doughnuts. Пышки are in a class by themselves. They are deep-fried bits of heaven.... =)

Would you believe I also drank coffee? :)

We started out with 25-- ended up polishing off a grand total of 40 between 7 people.

I ate 7... (shhh)

Then we walked off the sweets by going to Palace square. Which palace you ask? The palace. The Hermitage.

It took forever to get a good picture of the flag because the wind wasn't blowing very hard.

  1. I would've posted more pictures, but I wasn't super happy with the pictures I took that day. Far too many were blurry or bad light. OOOH and we're going back to Peterhof soon, so keep watching for new posts!
