The Road Trip-- Day 5 (Kaunas and Palanga, Lithuania)

In the morning of Day 5, we walked around Kaunas a bit and even got to tour a real medieval castle!!! It was incredible. On the way out of Kaunas we stopped in Baltrusai, the village where my grandmother on my mom's side was born. After that we drove to Palanga, also in Lithuania, where we went to the beach again and had a marvelous time. There were these ADORABLE kittens at the beach, just sitting there looking so cute that I had to take some pictures. :)

These pictures are not in chronological order. I'm very sorry, but it's too much trouble to switch 'em around.
The castle wall
I was so amazed when I found out what this building is: The Kaunas town hall!

Mom: a pilgrimage to her roots.

Some beautiful Lithuanian scenery... I thought it would look kind of cool to have a bit of our rental car in there...
